Grand Prix
Between Apr – Mar we host our own Grand Prix: 8 races we organise ourselves at various venues around Swansea.
Club members are split into 8 groups based on ability, and there are 8 GP races. Points are awarded according to finishing place, then the points from runners’ best 5 races count towards their overall score. Races usually end at a venue where we have a buffet and a drink (or two).
From these Grand Prix races, we convert times and age into an Age Grade percentage, which allows runners to compete on a level playing field with all ages and sexes. After the 8 GPs, the top 3 in each division win trophies that are presented at our end of season Awards Night.
